My only advice is to keep trying to get the alignment right. Replaced an iPad Mini digitizer today and all seemed to be ok prior to putting the actual digitizer on. Mine is like this too, but the screen is almost perfect. Mine actually sticks up above the glass a little. The button click action and sound is different across 3 iPads and 2 iPhones I use on a regular basis. Wish they would eliminate the button aspect sometimes for that reason and make it pressure sensitive.

I had this exact issue with my previous 9.7” iPad Pro. I brought it to an Apple store, and they replaced it with a new one. Make him take it out back and feel for it, if you have to.
